Let's BEGIN with Bird is the Word!

The next challenge from Bird Is the Word has been posted!! I'm super excited! I really love their word challenges! This week the required word is begin/beginning. I had lots of different titles tumbling around in my head and I finally decided on using some pictures from the beginning of April when spring had first begun. Rylee LOVES to play outside on her swing, tugboat and see-saw. The weather was SO nice that day, it had me longing for the hot, adventurous days of summer! After browsing through the DT creations I fell in love with Lisa's creation! I knew it was perfect for the pictures I had chosen for this particular challenge. Here is what my finished product looks like:

Rylee and I are both "Ready for Summer to Begin!"

  • Textured cardstock by Colorbok
  • Echo Park Springtime patterned paper
  • Echo Park Springtime letter sticker
  • AC Thickers in ? and sprinkles

Another Sketchy Thursday layout!

After taking a little break from Sketchy Thursdays (that 2 page LO was a little intimidating haha) I'm back for yet another shot at their weekly challenges! Here is the challenge:

and here is my final product:

I really wish I could have gotten a better picture of my layout! But it's rainy and gloomy out today so I couldn't get a whole lot of natural light. Anyway I love how it came out! I just recently acquired the So Sophie-Clever collection from My Mind's Eye. I can't tell you enough how PRETTY it is!! I LOVE IT!! I can't wait to use more of it! :)

Products used in this layout:
  • So Sophie-Clever by MME
  • Cosmo Cricket buttons in Salt Air
  • Creative Charms flower embellishment
  • Echo Park letter stickers
  • AC Thickers in Salutations
  • Large monarch butterfly punch by MS

Second challenge for OUAS...

I suppose they hold a little place in my heart since I created my blog with their first sketch <3 With that said I'm here to share with you what I've created for their next challenge :) This week was a 2 picture layout that required journaling explaining why I chose the pictures I did. Here is the sketch:

  • Fancy Pants Designs pp in It's the Little Things

MWM #38

After the little hiatus I'm back with my next mid-week mojo from the blog on Scrapbook Steals. This is a weekly challenge that I have participated in for quite some time. I was very fortunate to be chosen as the winner a couple of weeks ago! I love all the wonderful people that bring us not only the weekly challenge, but the great scrappy stuff, helpful tutorials and just plain kindness to everyone who follows them. With that said here is the 38th challenge from the awesome Kristy Lee :)

and here is my LO entitled Little Miss Priss:

I love Green at Heart by Basic Grey!! <3 The colors are just so vibrant and the designs are so pretty!! Thanks for checking out my blog :)

2 layouts in 1 day! Busy, busy....

I apologize for the briefness of this entry but I'm not having the greatest of days :-/ Thank goodness for scrapbooking though! haha Anyway I wanted to share these 2 layouts I did today for the challenge blog Bird Is The Word. I really like the idea of them providing a word to include in the title of my layout so I couldn't resist these 2 sketches! This sketch required the word "forever"

and this is what I came up with:

and the second challenge was to include the word "magic"

and here is my interpretation:

Have a nice day! :)

My first Sketchy Thursdays layout!

So like I said before I was beginning to branch out and start doing other sketch challenges. I stumbled upon a blog called Sketchy Thursdays and really liked what I saw! I'm the type of "scrapper" that likes to go off of a simple sketch so I can add, or take away as much of "myself" without straying too much from the original design. With that being said, this is the first sketch I participated in on ST:

and here is what I came up with:

these pictures were taken on Rylee's first trip to Chuck E. Cheese! She had an absolute blast running around, playing the games and fawning over the person dressed up as Chuck E. haha

some random scrappiness!

While I'm still getting the hang of this blog and creating some layouts for a couple other sketch challenges I thought I would share a random page that I put together a few days ago! I discovered Scrapbook Challenges a few months ago thanks to one of my scrappy friends, Lisa Zubritsky <3 And although I haven't had the chance (YET) to be involved in their sketch challenges, I've browsed through their site and stumbled upon some great stuff! Hopefully with the coming week I will be able to participate in their new sketch challenge.

Anyway, I loved what my friend Lisa did with this sketch:

so I decided to give it a go myself! And this is what I came up with:

Last year for Halloween, we dressed Rylee up as Tinkerbell! One of my (and Rylee's hehe) favorite Disney characters! Sadly at the time my camera was MIA, that seems to happen A LOT! So I didn't get very many pictures of her on Halloween :( But I had this one and I've been wanting to scrap it FOREVER! I recently purchased the Basic Grey Green at Heart kit and I knew that it was perfect for this picture! I LOVE the purples, pinks, greens, etc. of this paper! Basic Grey has some of the most gorgeous paper and that is one reason I LOVE it so much! She's my tiny fairy <3 Just like Tinkerbell, Rylee has a lot of spunk and I love every bit of it!

There's a first time for everything!

So I caved and created a blog! haha Being a sahm I have to keep my sanity somehow, so for the past 17 months I have been preserving the memories of my growing daughter, Rylee, in scrapbook pages! I've been involved with the mojo challenges over on scrapbooksteals.com for quite some time now and I've finally begun to branch out and participate in some other sketch challenges. My first one being this one from Once Upon a Sketch:

and here is my interpretation:

stayed tuned for further sketch challenges and my interpretations! :)
