Topaz #3 how about a little EP?

This week's sketch was perfect for using some Echo Park! I have a TON of pictures of Rylee at the beach so I bought the Splash collection exclusively for them! Here is this week's sketch for the third installment of the Topaz club:

and here is my interpretation:

Products used:
  • Bazzil cardstock
  • EP Splash pp & stickers
  • Ranger stickles in baby blue, yellow, fruit punch and diamond

I'm on a ROLL!

I've been doing pretty good lately about getting a layout done everyday! *pats self on back* haha This challenge must really be motivating me! :) Well today is Wednesday and as you should know by now that means MOJO over at SS! Here is the sketch for the second installment of the Topaz club:

and this is what I came up with:

Products used:
  • Bazzil Cardstock
  • Fancy Pants Beach Babe pp
  • AC Thickers in Macaw & Jewelry Box
  • Ranger Stickles in Baby blue and diamond
  • Sew Easy
  • Me & my big ideas chipboard stickers
  • Recollections bling and shape stickers

I wasn't thrilled about this one when I finished it...I felt like it was too plain! I have a tendency to over embellish sometimes and I think it's hard when I don't! haha If that makes sense. Anyway I like it, sometimes simple is good. I think the pictures show a lot with Rylee feeling the sand for the first time and wading in the ocean for the first time as well! :) Welp that's all for now folks, hopefully I'll be back again tomorrow! I've got to get lots of scrappy time in before school starts in 2 weeks :( TTFN <3

  • Echo Park Victoria Gardens collection
  • AC Thickers in LAX
  • Sassafras foldies
  • EK Success flourish punch

I love how this turned out! I had a feeling once I started working with these papers that it would come out great! Echo Park is amazing! Well I can't think of anything else to say so I'm gonna end here! I'll be back with more soon :)

A different kind of challenge!

So while perusing around on facebook today I stumbled upon a different kind of challenge that should really be interesting! I try to scrap AT LEAST once a week if not more, and sometimes it just doesn't happen at all :( Meanwhile it seems that I buy something scrap related more than I actually scrap! haha So in honor of actually CREATING I'm doing this 100 card or layout challenge! And besides I need to save money for more than 1 occasion. So here's how the challenge works...I am NOT allowed to buy ANYTHING scrap related (adhesives not included) until I have completed 100 layouts or cards. Hopefully some of my other scrappy friends will join me on this frugal journey :) I look forward to showing you all what I create <3

Happy scrapping!

She is OBSESSED with Mickey!! lol When I saw her cuddled up with him one night I had to take a picture! You would think with such a love for him I would have more pics of the two but sadly I do not. Anyway I'm very happy with how this came out! I love me some Echo Park <3 Thanks for stopping by...until next time :)

MWM #45~ a sketch by the great Lisa Z!

Hello??? Is anyone out there??? LOL Hopefully there is :) I know it's been awhile since I've posted...it's been a busy past few weeks for me and my mojo has definitely taken a hit! But hopefully I'm getting back on track and will be posting again more frequently. Speaking of newfound mojo, my current layout is last week's midweek mojo from Scrapbook Steals. And it just so happens to be a sketch by a good friend of mine! Lisa was the guest designer for the month of June and she came up with a GREAT sketch...I really loved it!

She and I share a love for 1 photo layouts so I really enjoyed working with her sketch! Here is what I came up with:

Honestly for my lack of motivation lately, and the unintended hiatus, I think this came out really well. • My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose (Hazel)
  • Echo Park Life is good alpha stickers

*sigh* summer needs to hurry up and get here!! This spring has been so dreary and cold...I'm SO over it!! I want to go swimming and play outside with my daughter!! haha Since I haven't been able to take a whole lot of pics of her outside, I resorted to using some pics of her from last summer in her baby pool! OUAS~ My Girl

Talk about cutting it close! haha It's been a super busy week for me and now that I've started my summer classes, scrapbooking might have to take over the passenger seat! Sad, but definitely not putting it on the back burner! Scrapbooking will break up the monotony of constant reading, and learning! lol Not that learning is a bad thing but I need something to relax me!

Anyway here is the May 1st challenge from Once Upon A Sketch:

and here is what I came up with:

Personally, I don't think it's my best, but it's not horrible either! I started this layout a few days ago and got sidetracked and then finished it in order to make the deadline. Getting the hang of school again after 5 years has definitely put a damper on my scrapbooking. But I know it won't last forever! I enjoy scrapping along with OUAS and plan to do many more challenges in the future!

Products used in this layout:
  • MME So Sophie-Clever
  • AC Thickers in Salutations

May 5th challenge from Sketchy Thursdays

So I decided to stray a little from my norm. Which is scrapping pictures of my daughter. She's always up to something so I've got tons of pictures of her. Instead I found a couple of pictures of my husband and I and decided to devote a page to us. Pictures of the two of us together are few and far between...so I'm going to make it a point to try and take more pictures of us together and scrap more pages of our relationship. And the newest sketch from Sketchy Thursdays helped in creating a memory of me and my husband. Here is this week's sketch:

and here is what I came up with:

I loved being able to work with some different color schemes. Usually it's a lot of pinks, purples, etc. I love using blue and green together. I hope you like what I came up with...it's a little new to me so it was definitely out of my comfort zone! Have a nice day :)

Products used in this layout:
  • Bazzil Basics in Avalanche & Blackbird
  • Crate Paper Prudence Collection
  • AC Thickers in Rainboots
  • WRMK Sew Easy hearts head & Misty Morn floss

Mojo #41 In the Beginning...

Well hello there!! It's been a little while, hasn't it? I decided to give myself a little break from scrapping for a few days because I was beginning to get a little burnt out! I sat down a couple times to crank something out and I just wasn't feeling it! I was getting frustrated so I knew I needed to step away for a little bit! And boy did it help! haha I feel like I've got my mojo back (no pun intended :) ) My internet was down for a few days as well, so I guess someone, or something else was telling me to take a break as well.

Anyway, I'm back with the 41st installment of the Midweek Mojo from Scrapbook Steals. This week we all got the pleasure to find inspiration from the lovely Sheryl Kloke. She came up with this great sketch:

and this is what I came up with:

When I first saw the sketch I had to rack my brain for what pictures I was going to use. Lately SS has been giving us 2 page mojo sketches so I've used a lot of my good multiple pics. After a lot of thought and organizing all of my pictures, I knew I wanted to do something with several pictures I've had since I gave birth to my daughter (which was over a year and half ago haha) I really love how this turned out! It feels good to have my "mojo" back :)

Close up of journaling:

The next challenge from Bird Is the Word has been posted!! I'm super excited! I really love their word challenges! This week the required word is begin/beginning. I had lots of different titles tumbling around in my head and I finally decided on using some pictures from the beginning of April when spring had first begun. Rylee LOVES to play outside on her swing, tugboat and see-saw. The weather was SO nice that day, it had me longing for the hot, adventurous days of summer! After browsing through the DT creations I fell in love with Lisa's creation! I knew it was perfect for the pictures I had chosen for this particular challenge. Here is what my finished product looks like:
